Welcome to Team NB
“The Games are the Gateway to Excellence.”
Since their inception in 1967, the Canada Games have united youth from coast-to-coast in a dramatic show of the nation's vitality. What began as a grassroots movement to help mark the Centennial can now rightfully claim its own rich history, one readily evident in the many photographs that document decades of competition.
While these images belong to Canada Games athletes everywhere, their memories are too rich not to share. Just as it's been the privilege of so many to cheer them on, the task of assembling this visual history, while formidable at times, has been nothing less than inspirational, as these pictures reveal the human spirit in its purest form.
The grassroots effort that has enabled the Canada Games to flourish can be traced back through many communities across Canada.New Brunswick has consistently distinguished itself as a quiet leader in the Canada Games movement.
This collection is dedicated to all the volunteers, coaches, organizers, and athletes whose dedication has made these ambitions possible.
May we live up to the task by cherishing these memories, and may the spirit of competition that made them possible inspire many generations to come.
This site contains a collection of Team New Brunswick images and historical information since the beginning of the Games.
